I want to make some engine mods and I have some parts in mind. I'm hoping to get everything done over the winter so it will be ready to go next spring. I'm not after a specific horsepower number; it makes what it makes. I just want a good, healthy sounding motor that's not a nightmare to drive on the street and is reliable. Also, I should state that my car is a 2005 with 40K+ miles, so am I "too late" to make these upgrades (do I need a rebuild)? Would this make a good combo? I appreciate your thoughts on this.
Here is the parts list:
Trick Flow head/cam package p/n:TFS-K306-550-470
LG Super Pro 1 7/8" longtube headers with high-flow cats and 3" mid-pipe
LG GT4 exhaust
FAST LSXR 102mm intake for LS2
Nick Williams 102mm throttle body
Halltech CF102 Beeline Intake package (intake and Beehive shroud)
GM LS7 style MAF w/ pigtail to adapt to LS2 MAF
LG Super Cool radiator w/ engine oil cooler
160 degree thermostat
...and of course, a tune (Ed, what do you think?)
I'm locked into the exhaust...I purchase it a while back.
I have heard good things about the Trick Flow Heads, also I am all for installing the FAST for an LS2. I made this thread awhile back - http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...st-intake.html Good luck with your build.
All quality parts so I'd say it should run and sound pretty good. Should be no issues on the 40k motor unless it's burning oil today which is unlikely.
Clutch might be the only thing missing if it's needed.
