Default anyone running texas speed headers???

Thinking ab getting them I want opinions only on if you have or know anyone that has owned these headers and what is the quality. I don't wanna hear go w kooks, LG, or AR. I'm 20 on a tight budget and want to know opinions on Texas speed only please. I wish I could find 1 3/4 headers but here is the set up I was looking for.

A few people on here have them that I know of. You might ask around on Camaro5 as a lot more of those guys run them.

If I didn't already have headers I would've bought the texas speed longtubes though. Their stuff is always good.

I did look on there just for quality purposes and saw that most the ss guys run them seems people overall are happy may pull the trigger on them soon though. On their website it seems as they don't offer their 1 3/4 headers for ls2...just the 1 7/8 wonder why that is?

I say skip them all together and get the magnaflow muffler deletes for $300. If you are na and just boltons, there is nothing more you need than to remove the cats.

1 7/8. If you ever plan on doing more to your car you have the room. Had a friend, he went 1 3/4, then later wanted to put in a cam, port the heads, etc and he wishes he went 1 7/8. Texas speed only offers 1 7/8" and what it doesnt say on their website is that it is no longer ceramic-coated mild steel, it is stainless steel inside and out for both the headers and x pipes

Do they have a option for cats with these headers? This is a great price.

Yeah might as well, it won't hurt. People claim you will lose a little low end torque compared to 1 3/4" but from actualy dyno numbers I haven't seen that at all, and top end hp numbers are higher for 1 7/8".

Well I called American racing and they said if I plan to stay under 700hp to go w 1 3/4 bc of the low-mid range torque gain....now I'm confused lol. Here is my options I am contemplating, what would you do? Used 1 3/4 arh w x pipe for $900 or brand new tsp that I posted ab for 830$? And why.

If you can go for used ARH for $900 go for it. I don't buy the under 700 bs. I had 1 3/4" on my 2005 gto. I ported my heads, added a cam later. 403Rwhp and 395rwtq. I then changed from the 1 3/4" pacesetters to 1 7/8" kooks and then was at 412 rwhp and 396 rwtq. Torque curve unaffected. But like I said ARH for $900 is a good deal and will suffice. Go for it

Yeah stay 1 3/4. Dont let anyone talk you into the big ones unless you are already way past that 650-700 mark.

loved mine, fit perfect, no clearance with a hammer, the ceramic coating is super tough and looks great, on runflat tires i ran 11.81@ 120 dyno@398rwhp. I think i made a thread about it.

I used my stock X-pipe.

Don't think too hard about it.

The difference between 1 3/4 and 1 7/8 is not something you will ever notice. You'll pick up power EVERYWHERE with either one.

So I just happened to be spending my Saturday afternoon comparing headers, pipes, and exhaust when I came upon this post.

These Texas Speed headers and pipes are only $750.

The LG Super Pro headers and pipes (which claim to be the end-all be-all of headers) are near $2000.

When directly comparing them they appear very similar. Notably, they are both 3" pipes from the collectors and they both claim "up to 25" HP gains.

What I really want to know is, what is the real difference with 2.5x the price? Sometimes people just insist that more expensive stuff is better, like wines or clothes.

While, the TS headers look very plain when compared to beefier, crazy bent LG, I have never seen any data that would help me objectively make a decision:

My exhaust doesn't sit on top of the car, so I don't care about what it looks like. I can worry about looks when I get to the muffler. Any informed opinions out there over this vast price disparity? Also, anyone know the weights of these setups?
