I have an 05 convertible with A&A Supercharger making 550 hp to the ground. I'm looking for a tire to street race. Doesn't have to be dot where I'm at. I just want to put them on, race it and take them off. What's the smallest rim I can run on my car? I will probably buy a couple rims so size is going to be whatever works best. Thanks.

The purists say the 17 inch rim is the diameter of choice with say...Mickey ET's or the like. I, for one, am not so sure. I have not tried the 295 series Hoosier's but I'll bet they are fun.
I put Mickey thompson drag radial 305-35-19 on my C6 with supercharge A&A 626rwhp and It change the gear ratio enough to kill motor on 60ft on a drag strip, after that I change the ratio for 4.10.Now it's fun to drive

I run 17" Hoosiers that seem to work well. You can get a set of the C5 Z06 front wheels and run a 275 on those. 1.38 60 ft at the track on the Hoosiers so they are wide enough to get the job done just fine. I've played around on the street with them and they work well, typically for the street I just run my regular 19" CCWs with a Toyo R888 which is not a drag radial it is a road race tire so it grips well for not being a drag radial and it has enough tread to not be too worried in case you get caught in the rain. Before my gears/stall the Toyo R888 was good enough (A6 so the gears are horrible 2.56s or whatever) so the car had virtually no get up from a stop so I could just punch it down low and not worry about traction.
The new tire (M-T) had 1 inch between the original tire and it change the ratio enouph to kill motor when i dump the clutch at 3500 or 5000rpm and no good for tranny (sticky tire).Since i put the 4.10 ,i slip the clutch normaly and the response to rpm is quicker and no dangerous for drive train (05 diff original) so the car stay sticky on track and just to the end (4th gear at 6300rpm 129mh).
