Default Here goes; Another TB question

Been reading some differant threads about having our Throttle Bodies ported. Was considering on getting mine ported(07/Ls2) or buying new aftermarket? Read some posts that say "gives better throttle response" or "flows more air/=power". If its just sent out to get ported does it get a new TPS ? Plan on staying with 90mm as I just have a CAI and doing LT headers w/hiflo cats this winter .Just wondering if its worth getting new or just have the stock TB ported?

Mines ported and I had it installed with some other parts so I can't report back on gains. I can tell you that the first TB failed and was replaced.

Porting done by the wrong person can spell problems and I'm not sure the risk here, is worth any gain. A Fast 102 intake would serve you much better with an accompanying tune on your LS2 for a few more bucks.

Get the stock one ported. There is alot of material that can easily be removed and help increase the throttle response.

Check it out.

I was talking to an engine builder, and based on dyno numbers, unless you have over 1,000HP, stock throttle body is all you need.

I bought a ported one and installed it with a bunch of other stuff, so I don't know if it made any difference.

Thanks everybody, ^ Thats what I gathered when reading a bunch of other info/posts. I guess I'll just consider having mine ported if it only makes it respond better?

I bought a Vmax CNC ported throttle body from www.mikenorrismotorsports.com and returned my stocker to him. The swap cost $149. I have been very satisfied with the increased response it provided.

Per the link, I noticed tool marks near both ends of the throttle blade mounting shaft in a few of the photos. Wow!

One of the "Porter" few years ago used to butchered up the mounting shaft in quest of - according to him to improve flow! I haven't seen/heard of him for a few years!

Hmm, I think that is the way to go then.
How long did it take to get the ported tb from them?

It was only a few days, and then you have a week or so to ship back yours.
