Default Headers net power without catback/xpipe?

Hey Guys,

Just curious, I purchased this with longtube headers and a stock xpipe/catback.

I installed a flowmaster catback (but no xpipe) and am now considering taking the flowmaster off b/c it's too loud for me.

Curious though, people state a good set of headers and a tune should net high 20 low 30 whp... Is that still realistic with a stock xpipe and catback?

Yes, you'll see gains from headers with stock cat back. You will need a new x pipe to work with the long tubes.

Im really looking forward to the new Pfadt headers and mid pipe set up... the use of the band clamps is going to make this system an easy install in the driveway!

I have no idea what to expect on a bone stock LS3 though... Not sure if the price is worth the gains without cams and other supporting mods. I would like to do more HP mods but have decided to make the Pfadt coil over kit the first mod... So many mods and so much money to spend... Why didnt i just get into trading cards or comics for a hobby? LMAO

Ls-3 gains alot from headers and tune! It's a must on an Ls-3 IMO
Band clamps and slip fit's on headers ESP at the collector and forward is leaks waiting to happen. Go with KooK's or ARH!

I have some experience with V-band clamps with turbos at every joint of the system have never seen nor heard of them leaking. Once installed they are super simple to remove/install for any future maintenance. From my personal experience and from those I have known who use them... they have been trouble free for years in use. I have always believed V-Bands to be one of the best ways to seal the exhaust.

I agree on the slip fits... I have never liked them and they do in fact "Slip"... Pun intended.

I have been looking at the ARH headers... But Pfadt currently has my attention now... Construction form and function... They are beautiful!

Can't go wrong with ARH or Kooks. I've used both and the fit and finish is perfect.
