If you purchase a complete supercharger kit like the Edelbrock E-Force, it will come with everything needed. The only thing required for the engine is to pin the crankshaft(and the necessary jig/drill bit etc is included in the kit). If you keep the horsepower increase within reason, no internal modifications to your engine will be needed. The E-Force comes in two versions for your 2008 LS3. One at 554 horsepower and the other at 599 horsepower. The 599 HP version has a smaller pulley(meaning increased boost) and requires that a higher flowing fuel pump be installed(that comes with the kit).

I see your in NJ, feel free to stop in or give us a call if you would like to discuss this in length.

You do not "need" to do anything else to your engine/car, just yesterday we had an 08 run 10.00 @ 142 with nothing more then our charger kit meth injection, headers and a drag radial. If your not into drag racing is fine, thats equates to really fast on the street!
There are also other options if your looking for a roots style blower so let us know what your goals are with the car and we'll be happy to help assist you reach them.

Thanks 4DRUSH.

Since your in NJ I would definately give Doug@ECS a call. We run a lot of ECS kits on the LS3. You do not need anything else other than the the charger if thats all you want. The LS3 is a great motor. We just went 9.8 on a stock bottom end LS3....Stock tranny too!!!

I played around with supercharging with a Z28 with the LS1 motor. Wish I had a dollar for every thread I saw where a piston had broken ring lands. Some of it was because they pushed the power levels to high. Others were poor tunes. Some of the design problems with the LS1 have been corrected in the newer offerings. I would recommend you stick with a complete kit and it's set power range.

Just did this with my '08 base coupe and love it! Went with the 599hp Edelbrock kit. I chose to do headers, high flows and a Corsa Xtreme. You don't HAVE to do the exhaust, but it helps and you will at least want to go with high flow cats as some have had issues with their stockers and the "canned" tuned from Edelbrock as it is said to be a "pig rich" tune. I was told that if you are getting a better "custom tune" then this can be less of an issue. I will say that the car sounds incredible with the exhaust change from my stocker setup!! Sounds like a demon coming straight out of hell!! LOL!!

As for the engine being able to handle it...no prob per 21st Century Muscle Cars and several others as well. Trust me... I did a LOT of research over the last year preparing for this and even talked to Edelbrock's techs themselves. One word of advice... Take what you hear from the naysayers with a grain of salt and don't listen to ANYONE who does not have personal experience with the build you are planning. Everyone that pooh-poohed me getting this supercharger setup had a "friend of a friend that knew somebody that had problems and their engine blew up" story and NO personal experience. Just my 2 cents..

For the record, I like mine so much and it runs so well that I am even adding a cam to it in the spring just to punch it up a bit more and Matt at 21st has had no probs with this sort of setup and says the LS3's will take a lot of punishment. He was very helpful even before he had my cash in his hand (not very common during my year of research) and I'm sure he would be happy to answer your questions. Cheers and enjoy!! Well worth the saving and money spent! You will never look back my friend... She puts a big smile on my face every time I hit the start button and the smile stays until long after I shut her down

Here's a link to the thread with my experiences in case you are interested.

No way.... Definitely more about the engine performance than the dress-up in my case...though that is coming next. In fact, I was just checking out RPI's pre-painted widebody quarter kits. As for wheels...I'm a cheap date... Just some wider stockers to accommodate Z06 sized tires in the rear for a little firmer launch.... Not planning any changes for the front except maybe a nicer splitter...

But no.... In hindsight.... The supercharger would be my very FIRST upgrade if I ever bought a new Vette

I liked the performance okay as stock...but THIS combo makes me proud.....especially after dusting a GT500 Shelby two weeks ago! Man, did HE look surprised when he finally caught back up to me

They have never done work for me, but if their work is as good as their service when you buy parts from them, they will do a great job!

I purchased the A&A kit as well. Did mostly because it came as a kit with Random Tech LT's & Hi-Flo cats, injectors, intercooler and I brought the Corsa Xtreme exhaust. Yep, the Corsa Xtreme ROCKS!!

This spring, I'm doing a cam, fuel, and .408 upgrade. I have the LS2 and there are plenty of guys doing 700whp and even 800whp on the stock block with just the charger and meth. If the LS2 motors can handle that, I can only imagine what the LS3's are capable of. I'm over 600whp and can beat on it all day long. I wouldn't advise pushing your motor to the limit as some do, but it just goes to show you how tough these LS motors are.

Post some #'s when you're done!

The ECS kit will also be good for over 700rwhp on your stock engine if you add fuel, alky, and headers. Very nice for when you get used to the hp and want more
