found out that my water pump is leaking at the inlet (elbow) seal. Im not sure if there is a problem with the pump or not,but can that elbow be tighted? replace seal? or do I more than likely need a new set up? If so how much $ (part only)? IS it worth getting an upgraded pump if there are plans to go FI in the future? Thanks in advance....

The elbow fitting is pressed in during manufacturing and can't be tightened. If you're sure it's the elbow - you might be able to use a bronze wire or even silver solder to weld the area where it's leaking. I would just replace it.
A new genuine Hi- per GM pump is around $200.00 thru some internet GM discount outlets. Chinese knock offs are half that price and not worth the trouble.

The inlet is the thermostat housing. Is this where the leak is? If so, try tightening (11 ft-lbs). If it still leaks a new stat gasket should fix it
