I'm trying to figure out an issue my 06 is having and am sort of stumped at this point.
Overview of the issue:
So the other day when driving I noticed my voltage meter going down pretty steadily until eventually the dummy notice went off "service charging system".
I HAD to drive it so I can get it off the road, and by the time I made it somewhere my dash showed voltage dropped below 7.8 and the car felt like crap.
So first thought... it's the alternator. So I take it off today, and take it to autozone to get test. Passed all 3 times. I also took my battery. It tested well and I left it for a charge (5 month old duralast). When I picked it up it was load tested and passed as well.
What else should I trouble shoot? I am a little lost here.
Check the 12 volt connection battery to starter solenoid (tends to get loose at the solenoid). Also make certain all battery connections are absolutely clean. Do you have any mods?
I got a new battery under warranty (from autozone) and took my alternator to a specialist who rebuilt the whole thing (they said it tested as dropping voltage and car has over 70k miles anyways).
The problem is still going on though. A family member of mine said my car may have a fuseable link coming off the alternator that went bad. Any thoughts on this?
Is it intermittant or is the "service charging system" light on steady. If it is on steady and not charging, try your horn. If the horn doesnt work, than its that fuse.

I'll try that tonight. As soon as the car runs for a minute Service Charging System (SCS) will come on. I clear it so I can monitor the exact voltage through the dash and it will alert me with SCS again. So I'll definitely try that tonight and report back.
