Default High pressure power steering hose threads

I am replacing the HP line on my power steering . The line that is connected to the pump is not threaded all the way so the nut touches the pump but it's the same way on the the other side of the hose this seem right? I will post pictures.

Those lines should have an o-ring on the end to make up the stealing surface. I'm having trouble understanding the question so please post up pics.
