Default Not as terrible as i thought.

Went and got a transmission floor jack today and started with the removal of the A6 for the Converter install.

Did a Yank3200 in my A6 G8 a few years back in the garage along with the rest of the mods so i figured i'll keep with it.

Thanks to subfloor for the trans removal guide it did help out.

About 3 hours later i had the whole trans out and stock converter out. New converter comes in tomorrow and i'll start back on it this weekend

I have a manual and the clutch is up front. Is the torque converter up front in the A6?

Clutch is bolted to the bellhousing/engine on manual trans.

Torque converter is bolted to the transmission/differential in the rear of the car on A6.

Converter and clutch are on opposite ends of the torque tube.

Thanks!

I theory then, an A6 is better balanced than an M6.

OP, I just got me an 08 jetstream blue and I'm stationed at Scott AFB and live in O'Fallon IL. Was wondering if you live in STL or in this side of the river since your plate is from IL. I need somebody to start going to the track. Let me know or pm if you would like it better. Thanks

WOOHOO!!!!!.......but why did you separate the trans from the diff? Is there not enough room to pull the A6 and diff as one?

Followed the step by Step write up Subfloor did. After separating the two it really just seemed easier to balance and really didn't take much more time.

To order a new shifter cable I had hit it months ago when installing the 3" Zo6 exhaust(what a bitch on the auto) Drove the car around for a few months like that. When i put it in Park it would really be in reverse so i would just use the Ebrake and shut the car off neutral.

The Converter is the Powder adder Series Yank just came out with.

Don't want to do it twice. Did a lot of talking with Dave at yank and this was his choice for me. Should work well na and later down the road if I do FI he said.

Nice, I've got an SS 3600 and it's pretty good but some times I feel it needs a bit more. A power adder converter should be tighter but I think you might have the perfect stall speed for a C6. Post up some times when you get them.

I will say one thing, you have guts. I don't think I could do it with a lift much less on my back. It looks like you know what you are doing though, just make sure the converter is on as far as it will go or real bad things happen. Something like spin the TC and listen for 2 clicks.
