Default Looking for a good wipe!

Hey guys,

I've been driving my C6 DD for a few months now, great DD car!

It's been starting to rain around here and I needed to at least put new re-fills in my blades.

Before I moved down south and got a vette, I drove a rather beefed up subie in the northwest, the thing I learned is that the one piece flex style wipers are the way to go, especially if you get ANY snow on the arms.

Since the vette has the old style hinged metal arms I wanted to go with a one piece arm, problem is the spoiler on the drivers side arm cant be transferred to a new single piece blade.

Option 1, the Bosch Icons, however though they say they maximize down force with their build in "spoiler" on the back, the Boschs' spoiller is TINY compared to the OEM one, they are also made in China

... I found some Treico Force blades, spoiler is MUCH larger then the Bosch, longer then the OEM but not as wide (maybe 75% of the area of the OEM spoiler), made in el Mexico, not exactly Germany, Japan or the US, but still better then made in China.

Whats everyone's thoughts on these for a 80+ mph rain wiper?

Thanks,
S

I have the Bosch ones on all my cars and really like them. I bought a new pickup and before the fiirst rain, i put the Bosch wipers on it.

Just my opinion.

I've been very pleased with the OEM blades and refills over the last 95k miles. Many dealers only stock aftermarket, so I order the real stuff from Forum dealers. Price is very reasonable, if you order some other stuff to spread out the shipping charge.

Picked up the Trico Force blades.

Worked great on the drive back home and the spoiler is actually LARGER then the vette OEM attached one, they seem to sit lower when looking out the windshield too.

What makes you say that, not like the OEM ones are covered in unicorn oil or something!

Infact when I pulled the OEM arms and blades and looked at them, they are just rubber blades, not silicone, no Teflon coating, plan old rubber, which is ok but no way it performs like the newer tech, no way rubber lasts as long ether.

In my experience, the rubber blade surface is always the first thing to go wrong and all brands are equally awful. The $5/ea. Tricos last as long as the pricey Bosches and are made in North America (Mexico) instead of China. Win-win.

Trico Neoforms are great, I'm not sure what the difference is between that and what you linked. I've tried the Rain X and prefer the Trico Neoforms over Rain X.

Not true at all, plenty of manufacturers offer a superior blade. I will say some cars come with an excellent blade but Corvettes are not one of them.
