I don't know if it's used much in autocross, but I'd expect more in road racing would. Maybe post the same question in AutoCross/RoadRacing for some suggestions.
The Quaife limited slip is usually used in transaxle applications since the fluid used in a transaxle has to lubricate the transmission gears AND the differential gears. The fluid used for a clutch type limited slip doesn't work well as a lubicant only for a gear type differential.

if youre going to get a clutchless diff, take a look at torvec.
Some roadracers that have tried both reported better performance over the quaife unit. http://www.torvec.com/

I have to take that back. I talked to them today. Very nice people with a history of innovation and success. I hear that in testing, their diff was worth a second a lap. That is a huge number. I am old and slow, but any help I can get is a plus!

Is that compared to the stock diff or a Quaife diff?
OK, here is what I did. I bought the Quaife diff, 3:73 gears from RPM cut to take a ZR1 pump, side cover to bolt the heat exchanger to, heat exchanger, oil lines, a Z06 output saft and seals.
Good luck on the Torvec, I have been waiting three since they said it was available.
Yes the C5 and C6 Quiafe is the same unit, unless you are going to go to the C6 ZO6 which is larger and will not work.
Thanks!
I talked to Torvac and the one guy that I know got one said it was great, the best they ever tested. A fellow at work had a new, in the box Quaife, that was listed for sale on the forum, so I bought it.
