Default LS2, I want More POWER

Hey everyone

Anyone know of a good shop in florida to take a c6 to to have engine upgrades?

Any idea of what i can do to get Z06 Horsepower? Aside from buying a Z06 haha

I was consider a LS7, but then i was reading around, there is a lot you can do to a LS2 to bring in HP.

Was looking at turbo kits, rear mounted from STS, or a Procharger, new cams.

any sugjestions?

Thanks a lot

Heads, cam and Intake you will make what a z06 makes. Or you can do a blower and make even more. For basically the same money.

Tim05C6Z51 is right. I just finished upgrading to LS3 heads and intake along with a decent, mild mannered cam (114LSA) and I am putting out around 490 at the wheels. That's non SAE corrected and it was the best effort pull with the H/C/I and full Kook's 1 7/8 headers and exhaust all the way back. I've built up 7 motors with the help of Chad Golen up at Golen Engine Service in New Hampshire. The LS3 heads I bought from him were CNC ported, came with valves and springs, and were shaved just enough to still give close to 10.9:1 compression and allow for plenty of piston to valve clearance with the LS2 block. He will give you GREAT sound advice in working with LS2's and he'll answer any question you might have even if you don't buy from him. I buy all of my parts from him and do the work myself but he might even be able to give you the name of someone where you live to take it to. Best of luck to you.

If you tell the forum in what city you live in you might get some suggestions...

You should post the intended use for the car. Drag strip, street driving, road course, dyno queen? If you want max power, there are great deals out there for a S/C installed (around $6k I think). If it's road course, stay away from FI due to heat issues.

More details will help us help you...

Thanks for the response, I like your comment, dyno king would be nice.

I would like to mash the gas and take off like a bat out of hell.

I think 600 HP would suffice, looking for mainly equal or more as the Z06.

Thanks all

Check out vengeance racing or fasterproms (jj formatto) I believe they are both fairly close to the pensacola area.

Get a supercharger and headers with a good tune and you should be at 580 HP with a manual trans. From my perspective that is a hell of a lot of power. I am still very respectful of the power as it can get loose Very quickly....

Default thanks

Thanks jay, so true, was looking in to a supercharger or twin turbos.

Someone told me supercharger need a lot of maintaining, is this true?

As other have suggested, if i get ls3 heads, a fast intake, i just may go with this option.

thank you

My car has a mild cam, headers and a D1SC Procharger and laid down 640 with the stock heads and intake. The only maintenance is a blower oil change ($15) every 5,000 miles.

I went the full headers, heads, cam, intake, TB route and made 505/456 and spent the same if not more than just doing a blower....

It I had it all to do over again...(and I do because I sold my car )

I would just do headers and a blower and be happy with it. 550-580 is a hell of a lot of power.
