Default C7 Seats

I am already thinking of getting a hold of C7 sports seats and fitting them to my C6.

I sat in them back in March when we had one in our lab and they are much better than the seats we have.

1. Bring a lot of money.
2. Previous C7 comments said they had moved the frame rails to allow for better seats, so C7 seats might not fit in a C6.

Keep us posted on how it works out!

If Sabelt made those seats, which is the supplier for Ferrari and the new Viper, I'd try them first. The $20K fully electric Daytona seat option in Ferraris are the best looking seats I've ever seen (a work of art), but also the most uncomfortable ones, at least for me (160#). I much prefer my crappy (by comparison) '12 GS seats than those. They're typically rock hard, so they either fit you or not.

As a side note, just read an article comparing the new Viper with the departing ZR1, and the ZR1 won. But on the subject, they said even though the Vette's seats were 'crap', ALL testers rated them much more comfortable than the Viper's. So it's not only me .

I am well aware it won't be a direct swap, but they look like they will physically fit the C6 if you make some custom brackets.

That's good news from the comfort department. Don't know where I read about Sabelt, but with the GM cheapskates, I thought it was impossible. Or maybe just the optional competition ones, at a stratospheric price. Thank you for the clarification .

Out of curiosity, do you know who makes (or made) the C6 seats? In-house, or also Lear? Thx.

Shouldn't you consider aftermarket touring seats? They are much nicer designs available. But then again can the sensors in the factory seat be transferred to aftermarket seats to keep the air bag light from staying on?

I was at the C7 reveal. C7 seats will be manufactured by Lear. We were not allowed to set in them. It was clear they are of much higher quality that C6 seats. Two choices. One seat for the parade crowd. A second seat for track rats. Adjustable lumbar and bolsters, Heated and ventilated. Higher quality leather. I think when you actually see and set in these seats you will be impressed.

The engineer in charge of interior design was aware of C6 interior shortcommings and so she commented her team worked very hard perfect the C7 interior. After the reveal the talk among those present was alomost 100% favorable.
