Default How to level exhaust tips

I installed my B&B Bullets about a week ago (which I love by the way) and I had to have an exhaust shop weld them on because the cat-back pipe was much smaller than the mid-pipe. The clamps would not hold the cat-back from moving. I see many people having issues with their tailpipes not being level and most say to disconnect the mid-pipe from the cat-back and make the adjustment there. Obviously with mine being welded that won't work. Additionally that adjustment doesn't seem to be a long term fix as I've read the tips go back to "their spot". This is how I leveled mine.

First, I used a level and determined what side I wanted to adjust.

I wanted to lower the right side tips, so I took off the two bolts that hold the bracket for the exhaust hangers on the right side.

I found it easier to roll the bracket down and push the long end out rather than trying to force the larger tab through.

Once I had both brackets out, I simply bent them to allow the tips to hang down lower. This may take a few tries to get right but you can get them exactly where you want them.

Putting the brackets back on is identical to taking them off, just in reverse.

Good solution, since uneven tips look like crap indeed. But the better question is why the hell that catback didn't fit the stock pipes correctly? Or did you change them? Or was the exhaust intended to fit a Z06, with larger pipes? I'd have returned it if it was intended for your car, since now you can't remove it easily. Anyway, at least problem solved for now .

I'm not sure why it didn't fit. Everything is stock on the car and the cat-back is for an 05. I plan on headers soon anyway and I'll just have the same shop take the cat-back off.

I've had multiple systems on my car and all have been difficult to align but all have been perfect when finished and never moved. Welding is very unforgiving.

They were perfectly level when I left the exhaust shop. I watched him use a level and align them. I guess just driving around moved them.
