Default best name brand headers

Hey guys. I have an ls2 with cai and throttle body spacer. I plan on running headers with b&b bullets and x-pipe. I think 1-3/4" would be the best size for my goals but i dont know which name brand of headers to buy. They allclaim to be the best? Is there a fail-proof or go-to namebrand when it comes to headers? Thanks for the feedback

I'd recommend OBX. Proven to be good fit, good quality and make tons of power while costing 1/2 of what others cost.

If you're set on spending a ton of money on headers I'd look at PFADT's headers. The quality seems far beyond what any of the other header companies are doing such as Kooks, ARH, LG, etc...

I'd say Kooks and American Racing would be considered "the best" name. I chose Kook for no other reason then I found them cheaper used then the ARH.

Default Headers

Take a look at headrs from Billy Boat Performance Exhaust in Phoenix, Arizona. Top quality and American made.

I'm running Kooks, 1" 3/4 with their X-Pipe and Hi flow cats. I like 'em. Watch Maryland Speed for a sale.
If you go with Hi flow cats, you will throw an check engine light. See BigDaddiesGarage for an easy solution.

Everyone here runs the same thing as someone else . Choose what fits in your budget and go with it . I work for a kooks dealer and they work . Prolly the most popular headers are A/R or kooks . I went with pfadt on my personal car . You will smile either way

I haven't seen Pfadt headers for Ls2 engines yet. Did I miss something 'cause I want "em!

When someone wants top of the line. we sell ARH or Kooks. if your wanting "NEW" let me know, we price match ANYONE on both these headers. we also sell the LG, little cheaper but still make the HP. walls are a little thinner on the LG and OBX is why they dont cost as much, welds are not quite a Prudy on either of them either and not made in the USA. If you want a set of LG let me know also!

Is that true that LG's aren't made in the USA anymore?? That was important to me when I bought mine back in 06. Did that change recently? That stinks if it is the case.

I heard the same thing. So in my opinion, the LG's are no different then the OBX and other Chinese made headers. LG is a vendor here so maybe they will chime in.

I have Kooks 1 3/4 headers, x-pipe with high flow cats, and my B&B Bullets installed very easily into them.

Keep in mind that no long tube headers are legal in the US. The cat's must be relocated which is a violation of EPA rules. I just got a smog test and the tech checked out the location of the Cats.

GM, Ford and Dodge chose the American made www.AmericanRacingHeaders.com for the Copo Camaro, FR500, Challenger.

Ditch the TB spacer, I haven't seen one of those in years

Picking parts based on what GM, Ford and Dodge do probably isn't the best idea.

American Racing Headers are fantastic, I'm sure, but I certainly wouldn't buy them because those companies chose to use them. They've chosen to use a lot of crappy parts.

Sorry i worded that wrong. I was Referring to the OBX only on that comment. im not 100% sure where the LG header is made. We run a TON of LG headers. there the Base header in our stg kits, they work great, make great power. just have a thinner wall i s all i was saying..
