My Key fob for a 2010 coupe is getting weak. Can I change the batter and how and does it have to been reprogrammed by the dealer if I can change the battery. They want $350 for a new one.
page 3-9 gives you pretty good instructions. replace of fob battery has no effect on the car at all (other than letting you start it better) and NO it doesnt have to be reprogrammed. http://www.c6registry.com/Technical/...upe_owners.pdf
1. Separate the transmitter with a flat, thin object
inserted into the slot on the side or back of the
transmitter.
2. Remove the old battery. Do not use a metal object.
3. Insert the new battery, positive side facing down.
Replace with a CR2032 or equivalent battery but make SURE its a smooth sided one, some have a rough side and they dont work as well
4. Reassemble the transmitter.
