I am currently debating on purchasing new tires for my 2009 Vette. I am having problems with the rear passenger tire holding pressure and would rather buy four new tires vs. one new tire if in fact the rear passenger tire is that bad. Here is the amount of tread I have left on each tire:
Front Driver: 5/32"
Front Passenger: 5/32"
Rear Driver: 4/32"
Rear Passenger: 5/32"
Also, the tires that are currently on my car are NOT Run-Flat tires... which is another reason I am seriously debating on purchasing four new Run-Flat tires. What is the standard tread wear before replacing your tires?
It really depending on what the tread wear of the tire is and your alignment specs. I got 6k miles on a set of NT05's with combine street and track use. My friend with a Z06 has 16k miles of street driving on that same tire. My current Kumho Ecsta Sport LE's have over 10k on them and still have at least 50% left. If you want run flats, check out the Firestones. Very reasonably priced and people seem to really like them.
