Default Stuck in a 10.8 rut

It was cool in S. Fla yesterday, DA's around 0 down to -200 so I decided to see if I could best my 10.81.

Thanks to my buddies Justasheet for his camera work and Theofel for his moral support.

Was not meant to be.

As usual, some vids for those interested.

And something new...in car video courtesy of my iPhone.

I guess the moral of the story is...It's either going to take a better driver (after breaking three transmissions, I will NOT shift any faster) or more mods to go below the 10.8 mark.

I am getting pretty good at the 1.4 60 foots. As of today, 73,262 daily driving miles and 494 runs on my original equipment clutch.

I think that clutch should win some sort of award.

I don't see much room for improvement outside of faster shifting which you already addressed.

I think 10.8 is just the number the car is going to run given the weight and mods.

You know the answer already--more mods or lighter weight. It's really that simple.

You aren't going to see much better weather here in Florida.

I wish I was stuck in the rut with you. I'm in the 10.9 rut. It always comes down to perspective pal. The glass is either half full or half empty. I say be happy with what you got. It was great to see you run that quick. You were still one of the fastest cars there and probably the only one with the top down on the way to the track.

Joe,
You look like a bracket racer. You do have your launch maximized. Most do not see 1.4s let alone multiple 1.4s. Congrats.
BTW- Rumor has it that there may be another NO DA#% Excuses Rental. Perhaps that would break the 10.8 cycle.

I'm up for it Gary, frankly more to meet all you guys but to also to try for a better time.

I bought a cheap suction mount from best buy for $20. It's pretty good but my first 1.47 launch landed the phone in my lap....I completed the run anyway, lol. Theofel just got a supercharger. One year ago exactly we both ran 10.8's...last week he ran 10.1's and a string of 10.2's at 135.

But I don't think my beloved clutch would like the addl 150 rwhp...

By the way, for the first time ever last night, by the end of my runs my brakes had no vacuum...pedal was hard until it built up some vacuum. Has that happened to anyone?

The only thing you are stuck with at this point is crap air. It may have been -200 Da but the Pressure was only 30.2 and the Humidity was sky high at 65-70%.

Once in a while we hit Pressure of 30.5 and Humidity near 20% with temps ranging 48-54 degrees. That's your Huckleberry

10.7's all day with your Driving\vette
