Default TPMS Caibration?

I replaced the tires last week and since that time the TPMS reads about 4 pounds different than my hand gauge, previously read the same. Does the TPMS require calibration or are they plug and play, so to speak?

they should either read correct or not read at all. There is no calibration. the car does need to learn (register) them but after that, they work ok or not at all.

my questions would be...

question...
you replaced how many tires? if you replaced just two, i could see where they switched left and right rims, so your checking air on a tire but its registering the pressure on the other side. they did that to mine once, display said low 3 lbs on right front, so i checked and air was right, then i figured it out, it was the opposite side that was low. they had switched rims.

question...
if you add air does the display show that you did by the same amount that your gauge said you added? sounds like thats what your saying.

question...
did you replace the sensors? i mean are the ones that were in the rims before your tire replacement , like, sitting near your car, but not actually in your rims that are on the car now?

i'd get a second opinion with a second tire pressure gauge. i have one gauge that is off by 2 lbs, so i dont use it, its always been off by 2, so i guess you can say its consistant.. lol
Bill has an interesting note, see #2... http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...libration.html

My '12 GS reads 2 psi low in all tires. But you must have changed something: sensors or air-pressure gauge. Maybe the tire place broke one and changed it without you knowing. Are all the tires off or just one? At any rate, not a big deal. Just check all pressures and find out which ones read low, and how much, so you know. If not more than 2, that's perfectly normal. Good luck.
