Harmonic balancer/ belts question????
Hey guys, in my 06 Ls2 I recently changed the harmonic balancer, reason being I saw it wobbling a good amount and decided to change it, no noises or anythings just the movement. Car drove fine then and still does today. Replaced the balancer with oem AC Delco brand. I was told that I didn't need to change the belts that they were fine. After replacing the balancer I then noticed a noise coming from the engine that I have never heard before. I don't drive it much, but the last few times I have the noise has gotten worse, especially when I step on the throttle just a bit. So I came to the conclusion to change the ac and drive belts, which comes to my question. I usually get the part number from the dealer and purchase the part elsewhere, hoping to get oem as well. Me personally, I'm a guy who likes to save as much as possible, but I will spend a little more to get the right part. So I got the part numbers for the belts and purchased them from a local part store. The brand is Gates Corporation out of Denver. My question is will these belts work??? Or should I take them back and spend a bit more on the GM belts??? I have been told that these are a good brand, but I have never heard of them.
