2 weeks ago I was driving down the interstate cruise control on at 70mph- suddenly the radio shut off, and every light on my dash turned on. I pulled off and shut the car off, but had to use the emergency pull on the floor to get out. My remote wouldnt open the trunk, no lights worked on the interior- and the car would not restart. I opened the hood and disconnected the battery for a few minutes (brand new 1 month old Optima) - and when i reconnected it everything worked.
today, my remote wouldnt let me in the car and when i used my key to enter the trunk the alarm went off. I tried to start the car but it was deal with the alarm going off. I disconnected the battery for 1 minute and everything worked.
I pulled the carpet back where the BCM is located and everything was try- didnt see anything out of place- i pushed the wiring harnesses in, fuses, relay, etc- Do you all think the BCM is on its way out? Any help you could provide would REALLY be appreciated! thank you!
i cant tell how old your car is. i'd have the starter connections checked for loose or fried terminal. sounds like your pretty sure the battery connection itself is ok.
wait... you said 1 month old Optima???? oh... lol battery, right. ok.. lol

thanks Dave for replying- the car is a 2005 base- and yes the optima battery is one month old (I had the first issue 2 weeks after replacing the battery). the second issue occurred today
The battery terminals are on there securely and the connections that are attached to the battery are clean.
Each time after I remove the negative and put it back on- everything works again.
would an issue with my starter connection cause me to not be able to get into the car?
the night that all the interior lights came on, on the dash- the car continued running perfectly- it just would not restart when i shut it off- and i had no interior power when it happened.
my 07 with 11k miles on it had a short within the bcm..... I did enough looking around to figure out it was internal.... 350 for a new one at chevy.... 200? installed and programmed.... now the 500$ clutch fluid change was a bit absurd...
sounds like it... mine just shorted out on the tpms... its within the same system... usually if windows, radio, locks stop working its pointing directly to the bcm... pay the 60-90$ and have dealership scan it with the tech 2 ..... youll get a definite answer... hopefully not ripped off...
