Default Header ?

I have the opportunity to pick up a new set of headers with X pipe and cats. My car is an 06 LS2 and these headers have 1-7/8 primary tubes that reduce and work with the 2-1/2" x-pipe. My only concern is that my car will be stock other than a cold air intake with the headers and a tune from Vengence racing after the install. Will the 1-7/8" primary tubes be too large to work well with a basically stock LS2 and will it be a waste of time and money for this combination? I would appreciate your opinions and comments before I go through the hassle.

Someone correct me, but I believe 1-3/4" is recommended in your case.

1 7/8" works fine. You do not lose any HP or TQ compared to the stock manifolds. You will have noticable gains in TQ and HP going to the 1 7/8".

My understanding is that they are a set of the Chinese knock offs called OBX. I have read about them some say good things and others say not so good things, I have looked this set over as they are new and still in the box never bolted on; the seller traded the car for a new ZO6 and never used them.

$700 is about what they run new. Offer $500. Some good power has been made with those headers. I don't prefer them, but if you can get a good deal, go for it.

grab them while you can if they are OBX headers. they are a good quality product with great fit and beatiful welds. my car picked up 65 rwhp with the OBX and ported Fast 102. the money I saved buying the OBX paid for the ported Fast 102. as for being knock off I guess most headers sold are knock offs because none of these companies were the first to manufacture headers. cant go wrong getting OBX and Fast for the same price as just headers from others and they are all stainless. you will make the same power as headers that are twice the price
