Can't seem to get the hood back up against the front bumper, can't even get it to touch the seal let alone flush. The holes where the hood is bolted only seem to adjust up and down, not forward and back, so I can't seem to adjust in this direction.
You have to take the bumper cover off. Underneath it, there is a mount there which you use to adjust the height of the bumper. You will need to play with it to get it perfect.

Didn't know that, but also only touched the hood, so should still be able to get it lined up.

Anyone have any tricks?
if you can, mark location of bolt(s) so that when you move, you know how little/much.

Important: Be aware that you will likely get things way out of wack at first and if you close hood with it way off you can damage the paint on the fenders and along the edge of the hood. It's a good idea to put some painter's tape or masking tape along the edges to protect things in case you forget yourself. It only takes one time...
Always close the hood *slowly* when testing your adjustments

one secret is to scribe around the head of the bolts before you take the hood off. easy to realign then
