They're both good for that 'mostly street driven only car that sees some drag strip duty' scenario.
I have a Vigilante 3200 in my C6 and it's a great converter. I had considered swapping it out for a higher stall converter (likely won't do it now though) but those 'looser' type converters aren't for everyone.

if you're doing it i would recommend a 3200-3600.

As with most other mods, it comes down to the question of "what are your goals?".

Will I like the 2800 TC on the street but the car is not my daily driver
I know I will love it at the track
Will I need to retune the A6 whit 2800 stall

I have other mods on the car my best at the track 11.89
What should I expect from a stall.

THANK YOU

I have an 05 with an FTI 2800 converter, and a few other add on's (Kooks Headers, Vararam, Tune by Cartek..

I just ran my best ET yesterday 11.61 @ 118 mph at Atco NJ.... The 2800 is great for the street, & I'm getting 1.6x 60' times...with Nitto Drag Radials...

Do you have a trans cooler

I was told a trans cooler is a must whit a stall

Did you use HPtuner for shift points and trans tune

THANK you

Yes I have a "Stacked Plate" type of trans cooler..and YES it's a damn good idea to use a cooler if you are going to put in a hi stall converter!!

NO I don't believe you get the "most" out of those "canned" tunes.. I brought my car to "CARTEK" in NJ and they had it on a dyno to tune it and its making about 400 hp to the rear wheels now...

The shift points were also set by Cartek... set to 6500 it seems to be best...

It's all a matter of preference and what your goals are. I would say that if your car is not a daily driver you might want to go higher than a 2800. My Pro Torque 2800 in my LS3 feels and drives like stock which is how I wanted it this time around.

I think you should look closely at the Yank 3200 or 3600.

Sorry I didn't respond to this sooner but unless you're only hoping to pick up 1-2 tenths at the track I don't think you'll be very happy with a 2800 stall. A Yank SS3200 would have been a better choice or even an SS3600 which still drives great on the street with stock 2.56 gears.

THANK YOU subfloor

I think whit 2800 stall and a good set of headers I should be able
to pick up 3-4 tenths
do you think the headers will wake up the car.
JP performance told me a 2800 vig feels more like yank 3200

I just hope for good result at the track something like 11.60
whit good tires

I picked up .4 tenths by going from a stock converter, to a FTI 2800

I'm at the point now where if I go to a higher converter, I'm going to have to get bigger/better drag radials.. & I DON'T WANT TO..

I'm using Nitto 555 305/35x18" and with the stock converter my 60' was about 1.96 - 1.98 with just going to a FTI 2800 I'm going 1.62 - 1.65 for my 60'

I still will spin if I don't heat them enough....

Got a Vigilante 3000 multi-disc installed last week. Its a little rough when locking/unlocking. I ran some 1.75 60' with the stock converter, anxious to see what it runs with this bad boy.

What kind of tuning changes are necessary with a new converter?

I ordered vig 2800 single-disc its suppose to feel like stock TC
after installation Iam going to the dyno for tuning and my tuner
is going to ajust the shift points.
