Default Hacking the Traction Control Button?

I’d like to know what the circuit logic is for the traction control button on the console of my 2008 Coupe. I’d like to use this button to control a small latching relay (in addition to its normal function), but I need to know what type of circuit this is. I suspect (hope) the switch is a simple momentary, but does it switch to ground, 12V, or some other reduced voltage? If it simply goes to ground or a full 12v, that’s good.

Before I break out the Volt/ohmeter, I figured I'd check to see if anyone has been down this path. Anybody have any insight?

Thanks

If I may make a suggestion there is a spot for the F55 suspension switch on the console. You can purchase that switch and utilize it instead of the traction control button as it can be modified to be on/off.

There is? On an 08?

That would be a fine solution too. I'll look into that.

Next to the traction control button look at the U shaped plastic with the black rectangle, it can be removed for the F55 switch or you can install whatever switch you want by modifying that plastic piece. Utilizing add a circuit to the fuse box under the passenger side footwell should be easy too. I believe the F55 suspension was also offered in 08.

There's no location for another switch on my console... That must have been an earlier thing.

However, I do like the foot pedal idea! Fits perfectly in the stealth instal plan.

Thanks for that.

Interesting idea regarding the traction control button. This brings up a question. Anyone know an online source of the electrical schematic for the C6's?
