Nitro tires

why can`t nitrogen be used to fill tires on vettes? I have an012Cruze with nitrogen filled tires ,not supposed to leak, why don`t vette tires use this? Thanks in advance, Batpig.

thanks Dave for responding, you are correct, poor grammar on my behalf. I should have asked what the pros and cons were of using nitrogen.My bad!

no problem. well, i did a search (at top of page) for nitrogen and for 'in titles only' for C6.

seems the general answer was..

isnt worth the trouble (summary version of their answers) but do it if ya want

Your ignorance tickles me inside.
Air is 78% nitrogen. That means over 3/4 of the molecules in your tire are nitrogen. So yes, your tires do use nitrogen.
Why not use hydrogen-filled tires?

the purpose of using nitrogen is to get away from tire pressure increasing as the tire gets hot. The water vapor in air contributes to the heat expansion. That being said, you need to replace all the air with nitrogen, as in pumping a vacuum on the tire and backfilling with nitrogen (usually 3 times). As stated earlier, not worth the hassle.
