Mantic Single Disk Clutch Kit Problem
In January of 2012 I bought an ECS Novi 2200 kit from ECS and a Mantic single disk clutch kit. These parts have set around the office since last week or so.
I dropped the drivetrain last week to replace the bellhousing, clutch, install fuel pumps, and install a C5 Z06 diff.
Got the car put back together and it fired up and it seemed to run fine. Upon driving it the first time I noticed a slight vibration started at about 2000 RPM and got worse as the RPMs increased.
So after a little investigating it seems the vibration is coming from the flywheel. My first thought was that the custom made diff mount I made had the diff too high off the cradle, but I don't see how that could be my issue after some further investigating.
With the car parked and e-brake on you can start the car, put the shifter in 4th gear (clutch pedal to the floor) and the problem still occurs, the same intensity vibration that begins about 2000rpm. This means that the clutch disk and torque-tube shaft are physically isolated from the flywheel and engine. Thus even if my angle was off (diff too high, or some other problem in the back end of the drivetrain) it wouldn't be a factor with the above test.
Should the Mantic kit I got from ECS come already balanced? Or require balancing to my OEM flywheel and clutch? Any other ideas with what the problem could be? I appreciate the help!
