No matter which gear I'm in anything under 1700 rpm it starts bucking pretty bad. I understand that's how it is sometimes. So my question is why does my buddy's zr1 with pulley kit headers and very similar cam not buck at all even at 1000 rpm......
Good luck tuning that cam for any drive ability under the rpm you describe. Your camshaft is around 24* of overlap, single digits of overlap is much more tuner drive ability friendly.
Under the curve power improves dramatically as well.
That's a big cam bro. With 24* of overlap your going to have some low rpm issues. Best advise: get a good tune and learn how to drive around the bucking. I have seen guys with big cams and race clutches drive the car like it is stock. Good luck
