Do the aftermarket air intakes really work? Are the results showing increased HP controlled by the operator of the dyno? Why wouldn't GM use the best design as a stock item? How could using an inferior design help their product? Just curious as I believe the GM airbox and filter really are very good. Would a K&N or Airaid filter only really do anything at all?

Just found a link to a test done on SmokinVettes and this claims the stock
GM LS-9 filter is the best. Seems to me that if it were better for cheap money than GM would do it stock.
