Default Daily Driver Tires

I recently acquired a 2008 coupe and plan to use it as a daily driver. It currently has Goodyear run flats. What would the best tires for year 'round use? Any input would be appreciated.

Best tire is the Michelin SS nothing beats them on the street.
If money is a concern go Nitto Invo!

Are you looking for performance? Mileage? Is retaining Run-Flat capability important?

If you're looking for the best well balanced option then, as mentioned, the best option is the Michellin Super Sport, but you definitely pay a hefty premium.

If you're looking for more performance there are several better options but will probably only get around 15k miles out of a set (Hankook R-S3, Khumo XS, Potenza RE11, and a few others)

Invo's are ok tires, but I'd recommend Hankook V12s over them. They outperform them and are cheaper than them.

If you want to stay with runflats, the Firestones are a good compromise between performance/price/life. Not good in cold or snow. Some shops won't repair a flat.
The michelin A/S runflats probably last longer and grip better in cold weather, but give up grip in summer.
The Michelin PS2 runflats have great summer grip wet or dry, but are not so good as A/S in cold, bad in snow, and don't last as long as the other two choices.

I don't know enough about the non-runflat choices to make a recommendation.

I have these now and they are good but with about half the tread gone they are getting loud and the rear is slipping alot more. I think the tires are getting glazed and hard. Gonna get the nt05s and see how long they last.

Michelin only for me.

I am picking up wheels tomorrow and I just looked at tires.
Discount Tire Direct dot com has the set for 1200.00.
Of course you have to find someone to mount them.

Thank you all for your help and suggestions. That is very nice of you to take the time to give recommendations and, more important, explanations. In conclusion, because I have an extra set of QX3 factory wheels, I think that I will run separate summer and winter tires for safety, comfort and performance. Thanks, again!

I agree... For my daily driver I have the hankook evo in my 2008.

Excellent performance as they perform very close to the michelins according to car and driver magazine test done at tire rack facility.

I got 20k miles out of my first set of evos and I'm now on my second set and as nuts as it sounds I've got 18 k miles on this set and with a tire gauge I've still got 7/32nds which is nuts...

These excellent street tires which us all year round on my 58k mile everyday driver I strongly recommend these $750 dollar tires delivered from discount tire direct or tire rack.

I've have Michelin pilots, toyo proxies, Goodyear run flats and non run flats on my various corvettes over the years.

Using stock rims? On a 2008 c6... Be smart and buy the evos...

Do a google search on car and driver tire test and read the review of the hankooks.

I'm so pleased when the second set of evos wear out...I'll buy a third.

Save your money....

Ps I just threw a little $20 air compressor and two dollar plug kit in the
rear cubby compartment.....just like I used in my c5 z06 that didn't come with run flats either.

60 k miles on that car too..

Enjoy that new to you 2008 c6....it's. A great daily driver..

Not a lick of trouble from this car since the day I bought it in nov 2007

I'm on my third set of tires since buyimg my 06 new. The first two sets, GY Supercars were loud, tracked every groove in the road, and wore out in less than 20K miles. I'm now on Michelin PS2 ZP's and love them. Much superior to the GY's in handling, noise, and ride. So far, with 8K miles on them they appear to have worn very little compared with the GY's at this point. Time will tell whether I get more than 20K out of them, but so far I love them.
