Default HUD G Meter.

New to the Corvette! Just purchased a 2006 Convertible that has a HUD. I have noticed that the "G meter" will disappear at times (in all of the modes). It still displays the "G" but, the sliding bar and the numbers are gone. Has anyone seen this before? Appreciate any info.....Thanks!

I leave mine in Street mode but I do believe if you hold down like Mode or something for 10 seconds it will record the last highest G force.

The highest G reading only stays for the current engine on cycle. Once you turn off the engine, it's gone.

While in Track Mode 1 or 2, the maximum G value
achieved during the current ignition cycle can be
displayed by pressing and holding the PAGE button.
The maximum G display will be shown until the
PAGE button is released. The maximum G value
display will be identical to the normal G value
display, except the maximum G gage digits (X.XX G)
and corresponding G gage bar will overwrite the
current G value.

The G info gets recorded regardless of which mode the HUD is in while driving, but can only be viewed by using the Page button while in one of the Track modes, before turning off the ignition.

You know I actually got to thinking, I believe that if you aren't in Traction control on mode or something like that it won't show the G-Force as well.

My memory is that the info is recorded, and can be viewed in Track mode, regardless of the TC/AH settings.

But my memory is also like...

don't get me to lying to you. Like I said I leave mine in street mode and never look at any others for the most part.

Thanks for the responses! I think I may have said it wrong..... What happens is, the actual number readout on the G meter (ie 0.24G), the numbers actually disappear and only the "G" is left on the HUD. (There is no G readout). I think there is something wrong with the HUD itself. Then I shut the car off, come back ten minutes later, start up, and the G readout (with numbers) readout is back again working correctly. Then after awhile, the numbers disappear again. Thank You!

It does sound like you may have an issue. If your in track mode and you hold the page button, do you see a max g? It only lasts for current ign cycle so once you shut the car off it re-sets. But this may help you diagnose the issue.

Mine does it too sometimes. I was thinking maybe it was a loose wire or something, but hopefully not.

it is probably nothing wrong with the projector as it will send the info no matter what. It could be the G force meter I believe located under the passenger seat.

That's why I was suggesting the "max G" recall. If the max G still comes up and its not reading the current G, then the sensor seems to be the most likely suspect.

I leave mine in track mode 1 and I can't recall it ever not being visible.
