Default Need help with Dyno results...

I had LT/Hi-Flow CAT headers, CAI, FAST 102, cam and a dyno tune done on my 09 base MN6.

The car runs and sounds awesome. It is a little stall prone while cold, (will be bringing it in for that). It has a nice idle lope and I can really feel the power! Also, the tune is conservative and that is fine with me.

I am wondering if someone can explain why the torque line is so wavy at the lower RPM's.

I'm no expert and would appreciate any input.

Thanks...

I believe bigger cams tend to have a dip in the lower RPMs.

Nice power btw.

The torque curve is going to be a very dynamic thing and the overall shape looks pretty normal. The reason for the roughness in the graph is because the smoothing is turned down to 2 which helps inflate the number just a touch (1-3 hp) because it is picking up the high spots in the roughness. Ask your tuner to give you a graph on smoothing 5 and it should look a lot cleaner than that but it would likely only show high 460's.

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense to me! It's the old you can't have your cake and eat it too thing.

Maybe I can have him make it less smooth so I can peak higher! lol.

Thanks again for the insight.

460+ in a cammed M6 is a blast to drive. Sound is intoxicating. Cam specs?

My supercharged LS3 has a 219/231 115 in it. Always thought it would make a good mild n/a cam. Your results show you don't need a really big cam in an LS3 for a really nice increase in power No reason yours wouldn't play well with a blower should you feel the need for f/i in the future.

Yes indeed! I did ask Comp for a cam that would be blower friendly!

Also wanted one that had a lower power band.

So far, very Happy!
