Royal purple --6 spd fluid???
Ok so I figured out that the Trans fluid is a Dexron IIIH ... and the Dexron VI mentioned in the shop manual must be a misprint...
I grabbed some Royal purple MAX ATF that meets the spec...
But I see they have SYNCrHOMAX for manual transmissions....
Any thoughts???
New to me with 51k on the clock... gonna get it all up to snuff so I know things where done and when...
The car is up on the race ramps and I am going to recheck the Diff, change transission fluid, do thermostat / coolant flush/ hoses... all at one shot....
will worry about brakes and fluid when it needs brakes....

Thanks... I was worried it might not be compatible with the Tremec 6spd as it calls for the DexronIII, RP web site says use it in any MT that calls for ATF...
I will return the ATF fluid and trek out to PEPBOYS and get the good stuff.

Been using Syncromax in both my vettes for years and love it. Went to an Amsoil option very shortly and hated it. Trans felt way different and not in a good way. Back to syncromax and still feels great.

I found the fill plug( by the dexIII label).... but which one is the drain plug?? SOrry its my first Vette and the shop manual pics are kinda tough to orient.

I just checked my fluid the other night and only needed a 3/8" ratchet to crack it open. Pick up a pump for the bottles as well since its a side fill setup. I also use a rubber fuel line sometimes and affix it to the top of the bottle and squeeze it in but thats more for top offs. If filling the whole thing the pump is much easier.

Old mud out.... synchromax IN..... pretty easy with the $7 bottle pump at Advance, and he did have the synchromax in the back... $14/qt plus tax.... and saved me the 50 mile round trip to Pepboys and the $17 /qt PePboys wanted.
