Default Experiencing Power Loss!

2007 C6 Z51 115K miles. Few days ago on an open road middle of nowhere I opened it up and was crusing about 100 when I passed three cars on my right going about 90. The lead car was a 355i BMW, which once I passed sped up to my speed. I gave it a bit more and hit 130 and just seemed to be all she had. The BMW got the best of me. I figured since I had my work boots on (size 15) they probably got caught in the carpet and I couldn't get the gas to the floor. Next day I'm back out on the open freeway getting on from a rest stop and decided to see what she could do. Slammed the gas and hit 120 real quick, slowed a bit but was still climbing past 130 when I had to let off. Few minutes ago took a turn at a red light and had a truck try to run me, so I hit the gas expecting at 20MPH for the wheels to start spinning and take off.......nope. She took off but nothing like before. What do I need to start checking?

Only work I have done recently is an oil change, fuel systems fush and replaced the battery.

Also, gas gauge has been jumping to empty and back up again. And every time I fill up is shows empty for a few miles. Check engine light just came on as well. Gonna stop and have that checked on the way home.

the "mil" will let you know. my guess is the pedal sensor (gas pedal) unless the intake tube came loose - do you have a CAI ?

No CAI, all stock. Going to check the intake tube now.

IBTL also.

I'm thinking pedal sensor also, unless you are just not getting it pushed down all the way because of shoes/boots. The check engine light should be on and have a code if power is being cut. Wow, losing to a bimmer, how embarrassing. This will end up being locked because of the discussion of speeding. The story should have been told without mentioning the speeds...then they would not have had a problem with it.

Locked because of discussion of speeding? We all drive vehicles that theoretically can reach speeds of over 180....lol. But I get your point.

Yes, losing to a BMW was embarrassing, but I'm more concerned with what could possibly be wrong with my Corvette. And need to fix it in case I run across this BMW again!

I don't believe it being an issue of the boots due to this last take of at 20MPH and not getting the normal wheel spin. Is there a way to test the pedal sensor?
