Any changes you make to add any noticeable power will void the warranty. I assume you have an extended warranty, because the GM warranty is due to run out next month, if they even had one for rental cars.
You have to ask yourself if more performance is more important than a warranty. If the answer is yes, then get a refund for the unused portion of the warranty and start having more fun.
