Hello Corvette Forum
I just bought my very first corvette after years of owning camaros. It is a 2010 cyber grey grand sport. It has warranty still and I don't want to void it yet. Car has 26000 miles on it and I was wondering what I could do to the cars performance and keep warranty for now intact? It has by mode exhaust and I have pulled the fuse so the butterfly's are open all the time. So what else can I do?
Thanks for any info

Congrats!
Once you start, it will be VERY hard to stop! Modding that is. DiabloSport inTune is a great investment, IMO. A good CAI like the Vararam would be second, if it were me.
If you do any engine mods your warranty is toast. Your car doesn't even need a CAI at this time. open up the shroud and call it a day. Best upgrade is to get rid of the GY's & with 26k they should be gone
you have NPP so you are good there.
I suggest you shine it up, take the top off and go BURN SOME FUEL !!!!!!
Go to TKO Performance and order the Attack Blue filter it goes in your stock intake and get a tuner such as a Diablo Sport that your can take out Via the handheld when you make trips to the dealers and you'll have no problems with losing a warrenty
Cold air intake (Vararam as someone else said) is one of the best mods to retain warranty. I am fairly certain the ECU retains history on engine tuning such as the Diablo and others which could void the warranty, even though I'm not recalling any documented cases. You've got probably the best exhaust for HP direct from the factory and except for sound, it's hard to improve on the NPP. Nice car.
Unless you surpass the car's capabilities as a driver (I REALLY doubt it ), why mess with it mechanically, especially if you want to retain warranty? Just change all the fluids (including brake/clutch fluid), clean/replace the air filter, take driving lessons if you really want to drive better, and make the cosmetic mods that you like. The only 'mechanical' modification I made, because the car needs it, is added a catch can. Good luck, and enjoy it.
The warranty largely depends on the dealer and how willing they are to work with you. Some give you a hard time about simple things, others are cooler about it, so it really just depends. We don't have a lot of problems when it comes to warranty issues but just be wary about it.
Generally, the best mods to start with are a cold air intake, headers, exhaust and a tune.

I would be careful with this statement. From everything I have seen on this forum if you were to have a catastrophic failure of your engine GM requires the tune or ecm? to be sent in to verify it has not been modified before allowing warranty of a new motor. Even when the diablo tune is "returned" to stock I believe they have a way to tell it was changed at some point an will deny you warranty.
Is there anyway to make the exhaust louder I have pulled the fuse on the bi mode mufflers and I want it a little louder.
I do not have the NPP bi-mode exhaust, so I don't know how good an exhaust it is, or isn't. But if you already have it "open" all the time, and you want it louder, you only have 3 options, headers (most expensive), new mid-pipe (X pipe, second most expensive), or cat delete (least expensive).

I guess what your sayin is true but if your cool with your dealer I highly doubt that they would do someone dirty like that... Shop modded a new GT500 for my friend & it lent up blowing the motor & they replaced it no problem! Plus I can't see a bolt on vettr having a major failure?
Straight from a close friend who is a sales manager at a Chevy dealer: YES, they pull the ECM/PCM history when there is a power train warranty issue. If the tune has been changed, they can tell. If it has been changed, but then reset to stock... they can still tell. It is then up to the dealer to honor or deny your warranty and if they deny your warranty they can flag your VIN so that any dealer can see that warranty has been denied.
