An easy test to see if the car is finding a fob that is hiding or is too close is to just try to start the car, without having one of your two fobs inside.

True. Definitely not one in the car. It would honk when you close the door and also I know it wont start when I forget my fob. I just have to check if I had them to close. Hopefully find time tomorrow.

The car won't honk unless you have that feature authorized in the owners choice section.

Update....

I finally got around to this. I think I was avoiding it because of the frustation if it didnt work, or left me with a car that wouldnt run.

I did the long procedure with 3 differerences so I am not sure which mattered but it went smoothly. I moved the fobs farther away, left the trunk open, and the drivers window down. All good now.

Now I can drive with the new style fob and not have to have the key dangling off it. Not a big deal but...... we are all crazy in our own way.

thanks for all the input.
