Default Cam question/suggestion

Good afternoon everyone. I am looking to do a cam swap (08 C6) and would like some advice. I know this has been discussed in other places but since each persons setup and desires are different the answers should vary from what is already posted.

Here is what I have so far.
Vararam CAI
Magnaflow mufflers
TSP long tube headers and x-pipes (no cats)

My goal with the cams is a good lope with a decent boost in HP. I have no plans to do supercharger on NOS. I would prefer to NOT have to do spring replacement or lifter replacement. I was hoping to do cam only.

What I am asking is can I do the Cam only and what size would be good.

Thanks in advance for the advice.

with the cam you are going to need springs and hardened push rods to go with the cam.

I run the Texas speed 229/236 .624/.615.
before i was at 420rwhp and 420tq. now I'm at 470rwhp and 420tq. tq went up in the midrange.

good lope, but no surging or bucking. (which has alot to do with your tune).

you can't go to large, due to the PTV issues.

Springs and pushrods are a must. Do a search on the spinmonster cam. Proven power and runs great.

I used the LG G6X3 cam kit. It sounds great, very lumpy and I put 520 to the rear wheels with headers, high flow cats, vararam CAI and borla extreme exhaust. You must replace the springs, lifters and pushrods, which come with the kit.

If you worried about the replacing the springs and lifters, it is nothing to be worried about, very easy. The only thing I fought was the damn steering, but after the third time is was a piece of cake.......watch the green o-ring on the oil pick up tube, if you nick it like I did, you will get to do the whole process over. The only other thing is you will need to go to the dealer and get a new crank bolt, they are stretch to fit.
