Has anyone tried the G-Force chips? They claim 60 more horsepower, easy installation and no trace if taken out.I have never seen any comments about them.
I tried one but as soon as I turned the engine on an engine light came on and wouldn't go away. Took the thing off and it disappeared. I"t was a pain in the azz to put on as well. Shipped it back Saturday. Anyone else have a good or bad experience with them?
I have had chips. I prefer sour cream Baked Lays.
If you are talking about chips for a car, no. I'm not dumb enough to fall for that. 60 hp, are you kidding me? Headers and a tune MAY get you those numbers.
Go get yourself a tune and be done with it. Either in the form of box tunes(ie diablo sport) or go to a shop and have them dyno tune the car.
Next time, please do yourself a favor and do some research before purchasing stuff.

Dude, our cars have ECMs (computers). They are sealed. You cannot add a chip to the car to make the ECM do something different. Chips were back in the 80s and 90s on the cars, maybe earlier.
You will not get 60 HP, not even 6 HP with chips on our C6 cars.
No these chips are not good for you car. They just make your IAT send a false signal to the ECM, stating the air is cooler than it actually is. The ECM responds by adding more fuel making your air to fuel ratio rich. Again this is not good for your engine. Plus there is NO WAY that will make 60 hp.
The sarcastic remarks are not needed or appreciated. The G-force has advertised on this site that is why I was asking my "brothers" in the vette family their opinion. My mistake was forgetting there are always a few black sheep in every family that just like to be a pain.

Hello,
Actually air to fuel ratio becomes lean to make more power. More fuel keeps the combustion chamber cooler but makes less power!
Where is a chip like this installed? I was under the impression that there were no removable chips in the C6 computer.
You just stick it on the obd plug.
I'm sorry for coming across as harsh, I'm just surprised when people actually fall for the chip thing. I thought it may have been a joke.
If it were such a simple thing to add power, everyone would have a chip.
Like I said, stick to a tune. Either a diablo tune or a dyne tune. If you're really lucky, chuck will come in here flaunting a $800 tune, even though you can get a tune for far less than that.
If you plan on modifying anything else, ie headers or a cold air intake, make sure to get the tune after you add them

Don't let anyone bother you. No one here has not screwed up on buying something.
You have to remember.....Sometimes you feel like an nut and sometimes you don't. We are just playful sometimes.
I amended my post....I told you 1996...actually I think it was around 86.
All the tuner software goes through the OBDII port, so why is everyone so surprised that there is a "tune" that uses the OBDII port that does not need to be removed?
Yea I guess I fell for the quick HP ad, should have known better. Go on google and look up G-force chips. It advertised up to 30 HP not 60, but still I should remember you get what you pay for. Hopefully they will send my money back. Thanks for coming around guys, I knew my "brothers" would not let me down.

Based on where you live, I would drive down to MN and see Doug Rippie for a tune.
I think all this plug in module does is re-map the speed in which the accelerator pedal opens the electrically driven throttle butterfly, giving the sensation of more power.
You can accomplish the same effect by simply depressing the pedal faster.
