Solution to clicking/ticking/clacking during turns
I have dealt with the issue of this groan/clacking noise during tight hard turns for a while now. After going over EVERYTHING on the suspension (and in the process going through several sets of endlinks), changing the diff fluid, and even the axle nuts, it turned out to be the steering rack...
I checked the rack and end links for play on each side and there was none - then went to the fluid - the res was nearly empty. After refilling and running it lock to lock a few times, I test drove it hard and the noise that made the car sound like the frame was about to break apart was totally gone.
I know a few folks here have dealt with random noise issues like this so I hope this post will help give one more thing to check out prior to throwing money away at a dealership.

Yeah Im not sure - didnt see a leak while under the car, nor around the boots when checking our the inner and outer tie rod assemblies.
I plan to flush out the system and install a small ps cooler similar to what the factory put on the z51s and z06s - during that process Im hoping to find out where the heck the fluid could have escaped from, however this is the first time in owning the car that I have even taken the time to check the ps fluid - for all I know it could have been this way since I bought the car.
At this point Im just relieved that I got rid of the noise
