Hello, its time for my 2007 C6 A6 to change my Harmonic Balancer + bolt + belt , the chirp is crazy , + its wobbling so hard that i can even feel it in my steering wheel.
The fun part is that the car is only 15k miles...
Feeling like the old **** 1958 Disel car
+ The Angry Birds under the hood are
So the Question is which Harmonic Balancer to install ?
i checked them and there so many of them.
Please give the name and the link to all of those that you know + your recomendations...
Within the last year, the GM part number for the balancer was changed; some people say it's a slightly different design or at least a better manufacturer. Supposed to be better than the original, but I've got almost 60k miles on the original and no problems yet so no personal experience with the new one.

thanks in advance.
if they used a pin kit (they should have)when they installed the s/c then there shouldn't have been a problem
Thanks for the responce. Iv figured out that the ATi is the best on the market for Harmonic Balancer's for Vettes.
But what about the alternatives, perhaps cheaper price etc ?
There are cheaper alternatives, but the few hundred dollars that you may save, would not cover the repair bills of another failed balancer. Buy the best and be done with it, IMO.
To answer you main question, one of the main alternatives is SLP Performance Balancer Pulleys.
Spend the money on an ATI. It really is a quality piece.
Just had one put on my '05 (23K miles) and done with HB problems. Bought it from Summit Racing along with the ARP bolt, $484 delivered to my door. Used a stock replacement unit, no underdrive....

I had a local GM mechanic do mine, he works for a local dealer and does repairs on the side at his home, he came VERY well recommended. With the ATI HB and ARP bolt plus 2 new Gates Belts (he recommended Gates), with labor and a tip everything came to $832. He also checked my oil pan (known for leaking) and transmission/rear end unit for leaks and found everything O.K. He had my car for about a week...total labor was $300.
They cost more but they're very nice pieces.
Some of the others (ASP, SLP, Powerbond etc.) are decent enough and can provide similar performance gains, but the build quality of the ATI is simply excellent.

Do not trust ASP. I broke a C5R timing chain with an ASP pulley and, after lots of research, learned that the ASP pulley was the likely cause. It cost me an entire motor - heads touched all 16 valves and 13 or 16 were bent. 11 bent pushrods... Not a pretty picture.
If I were ever to buy another pulley, it would be stock or ATI.
