C6 Ticking Noise
I have 40K on my 2007. The engine ticking noise has gotten worse over the last 10,000 miles. Sounds like diesel injector noise. Only when cold, under load. Goes away when warmed up. Very noticeable when starting up cold. Used to do it only when below 30 degrees, but now does it all the time until the engine gets warmed up. Is the noise from the injectors? Does GM say this is normal? This is not valve train noise.

Ticking gone
Not really sure what the ticking is, i also have a 2007 (32k) and i thought it sounded like a valve. After reading several post about lower zinc levels in todays oil and everyone saying run a higher zinc level. i changed over to Mobil 1, 0-40 European blend and the ticking is gone, and the engine seems to run smoother.
Same thing here.

Not valve guides. Noise increases when cold under POT to WOT. This is not valve train noise. Clearly coming from the injectors. Oil circulation would be OK after a few minutes. This ticking noise continues way past that point.
