I got back to my car this morn after work only to find i had a dead battery used the key to open hatch & access the pull for the door,
was able to get a jump start from a co-worker,
first problem is the vehicle alarm system icon on the dash stays lit (the one with the 'car;' & 'padlock') lower left of the tach.
second the windows are not indexing all the way closed but i think i know how to re-index.
thinking back i may have left the ignition in the 'on' or 'acc' position after i exited the vehicle came back 6 hours later and dead battery.
the fob was in my pocket far away from the car, wouldn't the battery saver shut down the power? wouldn't the car sense the fob wasn't in range and shut down power? or did i commit a goof?
and now whats up with the Sec Sys.
TIA.
If you left the ignition on then it doesn't matter where the fob is. You may have been getting messages on the DIC in the 6 hours but the ignition remained on. It's like you left your 70's car with the key turned to the on position and the motor not running.

well i was showing my co-worker some features on the car an inadvertently left the ign on there was a lot of noise in the parking lot which thinking back could have drowned out the chimes and we were standing outside the car i just shut the door and we had to get inside to work.
I just checked everything out on the car the security/padlock icon is no longer illum on the dash, it starts just fine after sitting all day and i re-indexed the windows so i need to be more careful next time cause what a inconvenience a dead batt is and maybe look into one of those jumper packs. thanks for the replys
