Hey guys I bought an 08 Z51 M6 with 17000 miles 3 months ago, tonight while driving home from work I noticed a small grind shifting into 2nd gear during WOT, I've shifted the same shift many many times with no problems, this is the second time since I bought the car 3months ago that I've experienced this...is it normal? Is it me not pushing the clutch pedal far enough? Any info would be great thanks guys...
I had the same problem and I have the MGW shifter, which was in car when I bought it, sometimes during normal driving, though very rare, mainly under wot, so yesterday I went in and decided to check everything out. And as I was suspecting the shifter bushings were causing the problem. There rear bushing was the main problem as it was completely torn 1/2 around the steel sleeve and the front was torn a 1/4 around sleeve. I changed the bushings with new ones and now it shifts like butter under wot and normal driving. So check your bushings as this will change the alignment of the shifter box.
Thanks for the replies guys, this never happens under normal driving and only twice in 3 months under WOT...drove it today while being cautious to push clutch all the way down and it was fine under WOT...so im hoping it was just me shifting too fast for my left foot...
