if you use the zip products ewp hook up, it piggy backs the fuel pump fuse, so if the pump goes it blows the fuel pump then your car wont run, if your car wont run you wont over heat

Yeah that's true. I have it wired to the positive post on the side of the fuse box. I have the trigger wire tapped to the fuel injector harness.
Will that draw amps from the fuel pump? I don't need to be going lean when I'm going 160mph plus, or decrease the life of the fuel pump?
it hasn't effected mine, i run 10.1 NA with stock fuel pump and resized injectors with a boosta pump, plus nitrous but that has its own cell with pump, i have been hooked that way for 6 years never blown a fuse

when i first got mine i wired it direct with on off switch, off the battery, i always forgot to turn it offi like the idea if the pump quits it blows the fuse then the fuel pump shuts off
