Has anyone had some trouble with the factory shifter on the 2013 427 convertible ?
My doesn't like shifting between first and second and second to first, beginning to annoy me.

I have that problem with my 05 sometimes, I took it to the dealership because I had a warranty on it and of course it didn't do it for them after them beating on it all day. GM does have a bulletin on this if you search the forum. My cousin is a engineer at GM so I called him on it, it is an issue and they are supposed to fix it. Since the dealer wont listen to me, they are listening to him now.

Is that all the time, or just when cold? Do the remaining gears shift perfectly? Both shifter and tranny on your 427 are the same as the Z06 and GS (except internals on the GS, I believe). It's not the most precise shfting manual transmission by a long shot, but it should shift, even if notchy. Mine 'crunches' when cold, but once hot, it shifts perfectly. That's why I haven't bothered to do anything about that. I pause the 1-2 shift enough to avoid it, so not a huge deal. Slightly annoying, sure, but prefer to live with that than take the car apart only to possible make it the same or worse at the end. GM really dropped the ball on Corvettes the last 2 years; all the crap happening to these cars after 8 freaking years of production is just inexcusable and unacceptable. Never another GM car in my life; I'm done with them after 3 crap cars. Good luck.

If you need my help too let me know. I will be more than happy to call the dealership on your behalf. Keep me posted via private message.
I am having a problem with my 2013 Grand Sport. The shifter hangs up in the neutral gate when down shifting from 6th to 3rd. I push the shifter up from 6th into the neutral gate and let the shifter spring move the shifter into the 3rd 4th gate. Then I push the shifter into 3rd gear, match rev’s and release the clutch. The problem is that the shifter hangs up when going between the 5th 6th gate down to the 3rd 4th gate. When I push the shifter up into what should be 3rd gear the shifter moves into 5th gear. I had it to the dealer. They replaced the shifter, but the problem is still there. The dealer is telling me to put some more miles on it and see if it “wears in”. My 1997 C5 and my current 2005 C6 did not need to “wear in”, so I am not inclined to believe that explanation. It has done this since day one. I thought that it was just the cold temperatures, since we bought it in Ohio in December. It does it all of the time, hot or cold. The only place it hangs up is where I described.

The shifter doesn't have anything in it to make it center. That is inside the transmission. Aftermarket shifters have added springs to increase centering force, however, it sounds like your issue could be something with the transmissions internal parts or how the shifter is mounted and/or adjusted. What happens when you put the shifter in neutral and bump it to the left or right with your hand? When you bump it to the right does it take longer to return to center than when you bump it to the left? Does it hang up when the engine is off and you have the clutch in and shift from 6th to 3rd? How about the more awkward motion of shifting from 6th to 4th?
If you push or pull the shifter into the neutral gate from any gear except 6th, it will spring into (line up with) the 3rd 4th gate with no problems. 1st, 2nd, and 5th all work fine. It is only if the shifter is in 6th gear and you push it up to the neutral gate, then it gets hung up and will not spring into the 3rd 4th gate. When it is hung up there, if you give the shifter a bump toward the driver, it will move into the 3rd 4th gate. The hang up seems to be on the rearward part of the gate. When on the top (forward part) of the gate, 5th into the 3rd 4th gate, it does not hang up. The 1st 2nd gate has no hang ups at all. The problem happens it if the engine is either running or not. It does it (with the engine off) if the clutch is engaged or disengaged. 6th to 4th, you have to push the shifter higher in the neutral gate to get past what ever it is hanging up on. Shifter to the left,(1st 2nd) and release is smooth return to 3rd 4th. Shifter to the right (5th 6th) and release, it will hang up or do a slight bump forward about halfway between and then go to 3rd 4th.
