Default Dewitt Dual Fan install question

I already have a Dewitt radiator which I installed a number of years ago. Now I'm wanting to install Dewitt dual fan, my question is can I install the fan assembly without removing the radiator? I called Dewitt and they said their not quite sure, it could be tight and if it is just remove the radiator. Well I'll make sure to invite you over if I do. I really want to ovoid that, I appreciate anyone's past experience

I don't know about the Dewitts' unit, but the stock fan is easily removable. When I needed to remove the radiator (and I did it more than a few times so far), all I needed to do was to unbuckle all the cable holders the fan has on it by the top area, unscrew two bolts (one up top by the passenger side, the other one down below on the driver side), and then push up a little bit to let it loose from its tabs and slide it down. I do have a lift, and found that it was easier to remove it from the bottom of the car since no coolant line obstruct that way. I hope this helps.

You can install the dual fans without removing the radiator. The brackets are kind of tricky but doable. You're going to have to hardwire/solder the PWM wires to the dual fan wires. Not hard. Good luck.

Good deal, were you pulling it from the top or bottom. I ask because jack stands is as high as I can go.
Also are you happy with the results of a dual fan?

It will come out either thru the top or bottom. Last time - I pulled it out the bottom. I had my car on jack stands also but you don't need them all the way up. As for the results - I don't feel the money spent on the dual fans was worth it. The in town driving temps are down by only maybe 10 to 12 degrees.

I appreciate your input, and have heard the same from a number of people that the upgrade may not even be a upgrade. I think I will adjust my fan to come on a little sooner. Thanks

Another issue that came to my mind when I looked up dual fans: As you know, the fans have no affect at higher speeds since running them would actually interfere with the air flow. I actually wonder if dual fans could actually hinder radiator's performance at high speeds since they block more of an area right behind the radiators, thereby blocking air flow.

Outstanding point, dual just good for 35 mph lower if I remember right. But you bring up a something that not many people would consider, how much of the fan assembly covers the back side of the radiator not allowing air flow, now you have me rethinking my process. So now is there a better single fan on the market? I love me some HPDE driving cannot be obstructing air flow

I don't think the dual fans effect cooling at speed at all. My car runs the same 180-185 on hot days when rolling at a decent speed. Same as it was before dual fans. It does help a little when not moving or moving very slowly.

I honestly don't know if it would have a significant affect or not, but I think you'd need to overwhelm the system to see what the impact is to the system 'at its limits', which would mean attending HPDE events or similar.

During regular driving, the system is already stronger than required, so in my opinion, the difference would be minimal.

Duals didnt do much to help my stroker personally. I installed it from the bottom on jack stands as well. I'm actually considering taking it out and going back to the single I had prior just because I'm weird like that.

Helped me out. No effect at speed but definitely helps a bit at stops. Not a huge difference but better for sure.

Fans are activity when temperatures are reach. But they will turn off at 35 mph so the fan motor don't get over driven, which in turn would damage the fan motor.
