Fellas i'm currently deployed and had my brother take my car into a muffler shop to get a quote on having a borla stinger axleback installed. The shop quoted him at damn near $300. That seems a bit high considering I hear most people put them on with jack stands in less than 2 hrs. Are these guys full of $hit?

Most shops in my area would charge me about $40 to do the job. I had several custom cat backs on my C5s swapped in and further customized to fit by a local Cole Muffler shop. Some of the shop owners will say no charge, just throw the mechanic some money. They use 4 post lifts and don't have any problem lifting the cars. It isn't a big freaking deal.
The only reason any body would go to Midas is to have money removed from their wallet.
Bill you live around some very generous people. I paid 200 in the philly area to have an NPP installed on my 05,but they had to weld adapters to fit them also.
$100 for my Bullets on my '06; $150 for them 7 years later--and that was high, but the shop is great. $200 is way high, $300 is a joke. My Meinike guy wouldn't do the job. I had it done at my body shop so it was done right, including the 2x4s on the lift arm. Mufflers would add some to it, as Bullets are 1 piece, but still <$200 tops.
