Quick Trans Question
I looked under my 2006 MN6 and saw some residue under the transmission housing. The car has 30K miles on it and the trans has never been touched.
It’s not leaking, there are no fluid spots on the garage floor.
Is this normal?

I had the same thing this spring on my 2006 M6 30K miles car. I also had a very wet oil pan caused by an oil pan gasket that failed around one bolt at the front. The residue on the transmission front and flange was blow back from the oil pan leak. The oil pan gasket was replaced, oil pan and transmission all cleaned up, no more mess.

I did have something on the oil pan which I cleaned up a few hundred miles ago; I'm not sure what it was from. That 'blow back' sounds like the problem.
